Welcome to Shirat Sharon
A Jewish presence for every path, every journey, and every heart.
Founded in 2013, Shirat Sharon is the heart-centered work of Rabbi-Cantor Sharon Steinberg, offering meaningful, inclusive Jewish connection for people of all backgrounds and beliefs. Whether you're traditionally observant, culturally curious, spiritually searching, or somewhere in between, you are welcome here.
Shirat Sharon is especially here for those who may not be part of a synagogue or formal community—interfaith families, LGBTQIA+ individuals, and anyone who has ever felt on the margins. If you’re seeking a personal, compassionate guide to Jewish life, you’ll find a warm welcome here.
Based in Boca Raton, FL, Rabbi-Cantor Sharon is available locally and nationwide (even internationally) to accompany you through life’s sacred moments—weddings, B’nai Mitzvahs, baby namings, funerals, and other milestones.
You’ll find personalized ceremonies, engaging Jewish learning for all ages, spiritual counseling, and warm, nonjudgmental support—including for those exploring conversion or just beginning to ask questions.
Not Jewish? You are still warmly welcome. Whether you’re part of a Jewish family, exploring Judaism, or simply curious, this is a place of openness, kindness, and respectful dialogue.
Wherever your journey leads, you don’t have to walk it alone.
Meet Rabbi-Cantor Sharon Steinberg
Spiritual Leader. Vocalist. Life Coach. Lifelong Guide.
Rabbi-Cantor Sharon Steinberg—affectionately known as Rabbi Sharon—has been a heartfelt presence in the Jewish community since 1992. In 2013, she founded Shirat Sharon, a vibrant and welcoming space created especially for those who aren’t affiliated with a particular synagogue but still seek connection, tradition, and meaning in their Jewish lives.
Rabbi Sharon brings an inclusive spirit to everything she does. Whether you're planning a wedding, honoring a loved one, guiding a child through their Bar/Bat Mitzvah, seeking education, or simply looking for spiritual support—Rabbi Sharon meets each person with warmth, empathy, and deep personal attention.
Before becoming a rabbi, Rabbi Sharon spent many years as a professional cantor, serving Temple Shalom in Chevy Chase, MD (1992–2001), and Beth El Hebrew Congregation in Alexandria, VA (2001–2013). After stepping back to pursue rabbinic studies, she was ordained in 2015 and soon after became the solo spiritual leader of Temple Beth Shira in Boca Raton, FL—a role she continues to cherish today.
Her rich educational journey includes cantorial certification from the American Conference of Cantors in partnership with Hebrew Union College’s Debbie Friedman School of Sacred Music. She received her rabbinic ordination from The Rabbinical Academy, Mesifta Adath Wolkowisk, and has also trained in pastoral counseling and professional life coaching.
Before her rabbinic path, Rabbi Sharon was immersed in the world of music. A classically trained singer, she toured internationally and taught voice at institutions like the University of Maryland, the Baltimore School for the Arts, and the University of Wisconsin. Highlights of her performance career include a celebrated recital at Lincoln Center’s Alice Tully Hall and a broadcast performance with Italy’s Chigiana Orchestra.
At the heart of it all, Rabbi Sharon is guided by deep compassion, a love of learning, and a genuine desire to walk with others on their personal and spiritual journeys. She’s also the proud mom of three grown children—her most cherished role of all.
