Welcome to Shirat Sharon

"...a Jewish presence for every path, every journey, and every heart."

I founded Shirat Sharon in 2013 to create a warm and welcoming spiritual home—especially for those who may feel outside the traditional boundaries of Jewish institutions. If you’ve ever felt disconnected, uncertain where you belong, or simply curious about Jewish life, I want you to know: there’s a place for you here.

Whether you’re Jewish, part of an interfaith family, LGBTQIA+, spiritually seeking, or just beginning to explore, Shirat Sharon offers an open door and an open heart. My goal is to provide meaningful, personalized Jewish connection—for lifecycle moments, Jewish learning, or simply a deeper sense of spiritual grounding.

Based in Boca Raton, Florida, I serve individuals and families locally, across the country, and even internationally. I offer officiation for weddings, B’nai Mitzvahs, baby namings, funerals, and other sacred transitions. You’ll also find adult and youth education, guidance for those considering conversion, and pastoral care for anyone in need of a compassionate ear.

Not Jewish? Still welcome. This is a space of curiosity, kindness, and shared exploration. No judgments. Just real conversations, personal support, and heartfelt connection.

Wherever your journey leads, you don’t have to walk it alone.

Rabbi-Cantor Sharon

Meet Rabbi-Cantor Sharon Steinberg

"Spiritual Leader. Vocalist. Life Coach. Lifelong Guide."

Rabbi-Cantor Sharon Steinberg—known by many simply as Rabbi Sharon—has been a heartfelt presence in the Jewish community since 1992. She brings warmth, wisdom, and inclusivity to every interaction, specializing in spiritual support for individuals and families who may not be connected to a traditional synagogue.

In 2013, Rabbi Sharon founded Shirat Sharon, a “synagogue without walls” created to serve individuals and families who seek meaningful Jewish connection outside of traditional institutions. With a focus on inclusivity, warmth, and personal attention, Shirat Sharon offers spiritual guidance, education, and lifecycle officiation locally, nationally, and beyond. Two years later, in 2015, Rabbi Sharon became the sole clergy and spiritual leader of Temple Beth Shira in Boca Raton, Florida—a role she continues to cherish as she guides the congregation with compassion, creativity, and heartfelt care.

Before becoming a rabbi, Rabbi Sharon spent over two decades as a professional cantor, first at Temple Shalom in Chevy Chase, MD, and then at Beth El Hebrew Congregation in Alexandria, VA. After years of immersive study and pastoral training, she was ordained in 2015 through The Rabbinical Academy, Mesifta Adath Wolkowisk. Her cantorial certification is from the American Conference of Cantors in partnership with Hebrew Union College’s Debbie Friedman School of Sacred Music, and she is also a trained pastoral counselor and certified professional life coach.

Rabbi Sharon is a classically trained vocalist whose international performance career has included a celebrated solo recital at Lincoln Center’s Alice Tully Hall and a broadcast performance with Italy’s Chigiana Orchestra. She has taught voice at the University of Maryland, the Baltimore School for the Arts, and the University of Wisconsin. In addition to her rabbinic work, she continues to perform locally for synagogues, community organizations, and special events. You can learn more about her musical offerings at www.sharonsteinbergprograms.com.

In every role—whether officiating, educating, performing, or simply listening—Rabbi Sharon is guided by compassion, curiosity, and a desire to help others live meaningful Jewish lives. She’s also the proud mother of three grown children—her most cherished title of all.
