Personalized Bar/Bat Mitzvah Experiences with Rabbi Sharon
"Traditional or creative- coming-of-age ceremonies as unique as your child."
I love to teach—it’s at the heart of what I do. I create inclusive Bar and Bat Mitzvah experiences for families of all backgrounds, whether you’re celebrating locally or planning a destination event. Interfaith families are warmly welcomed. You can choose your own tutor, or I can support your child from the very first Hebrew letters to confidently reading from the Torah. Each journey is shaped around your family’s unique goals and values.
For students seeking a non-traditional path, I offer a creative and meaningful alternative: a 13-point project in which the student explores how Judaism can be a part of their life. They might study 13 aspects of Jewish life—such as holidays, values, social justice, and community—or connect Jewish learning to a personal passion like sports, music, art, or nature. Hebrew and Torah reading can be included, but they are not required. What matters most is creating a thoughtful, authentic experience that feels relevant and empowering for your child.
With extensive experience supporting children of all abilities, including those with learning differences or emotional challenges, I ensure every student feels seen, supported, and proud of their accomplishment. I’m also available to serve as cantor or song leader for ceremonies led by another officiant, bringing spirit and musical connection to the service. Family involvement is always encouraged to help create a ceremony that feels truly personal and heartfelt.
